Glasgow hops back to life for 2016

It looks from the signs of it that my dwarf hop plant is coming back for another year!

After a rather successful crop last year that enabled me to homebrew an impressive one gallon batch of CWG IPA the wee thing has sprung into action in spring.

Very excited to see what harvest I can get this summer with it being its third year. Still drinking the CWG IPA from last year, here’s hoping I get the priming right this time and so it’s better than this.

#ThrowbackThursday – Textures We Walk – Photography Project

A wee #ThrowbackThursday to a photography project I created a few years ago with Jonathan Goodman. I did the front end, he looked after the awkward back end and we got other people to bring their photography to us.

Check it out here

The photography project was looking at the Textures We Walk on but never really pay much attention too. I took some pictures myself from my commute in Glasgow but then also asked people to tweet photographs of fun textures they walk on too. They would use the hashtag #tww and then the images would be pulled into the site.

The idea behind it was to get a load of people sharing interesting images from across the world. It achieved this and we had a wide variety of really curious and beautiful pictures of peoples feet mixed with man made and natural back drops.

The theory was that we could get people to re-access their journey and get them to take in the boring and dull ground beneath them from around the world thus reiterating Robert Frank’s quote “You can photograph anything now”. Instead though people really surprised me and took the concept in new directions and their feet too.
